Just in the past week I've seen four interviews in which people have stated:
a) They've "given 110%"
b) Their "life has changed 150%"
c) "It takes 110% to get the job done"
d) "Those guys go out there and always give 110%"
I'm not just now noticing this phenomenon. It's been coming on gradually for several years. 110% is by far the most popular percentage now, but it's steadily creeping up toward 200%. Why isn't 100% good enough anymore? Apprently not. It seems as though giving 100% makes you lazy and apathetic.
Seriously--when was the last time you heard someone say they gave 100%? It's been a while, I'm sure.
That's my random thought for the day.
